ROUNDTABLE - Hot Topics on SPARC Connect (Extended Day Programs for Middle School)
This session will provide a supportive discussion space for leaders overseeing extended day, enrichment, and summer programs who are navigating the unique opportunities and challenges of serving middle school students. Together, we’ll continue brainstorming and sharing ideas related to:
- Designing engaging and age-appropriate middle school programming
- Addressing participation challenges and student motivation
- Staffing models and training for this age group
- Scheduling structures and flexibility
- Fee structures, financial aid considerations, and accessibility
- Balancing structure, independence, and community for middle schoolers
Our goal is to build on the momentum of our last Extended Day Roundtable and related Working Webinar to move from sharing challenges to generating practical, creative solutions together.
This discussion is open to SPARC members only. We welcome and encourage participation from anyone with involvement in auxiliary programs including Directors, Assistant Directors, CFOs, and any other school personnel that are interested. The discussion will be facilitated by SPARC Senior Advisors, with the goal of encouraging the participation of all attendees.
